GAPPO Girls Support Program (GGSP)
The GAPPO Girls Support Program (GGSP) is designed to empower, educate, and support young girls across African communities, especially those facing social, economic, and cultural barriers. The program addresses various challenges that girls encounter in their pursuit of education, health, and personal development. By providing resources, mentorship, and training, GGSP aims to uplift girls, boost their confidence, and prepare them for a brighter future. Below are the key activities under the GGSP:
Distribution of Sanitary Pads & Menstrual Health Education
- Sanitary Pad Distribution: Regularly distribute sanitary pads to high school girls, especially in underserved communities, to help them manage their menstrual hygiene with dignity and comfort.
- Menstrual Health Education Workshops: Organize workshops to educate girls about menstrual health, reproductive rights, and hygiene practices, addressing myths and misconceptions surrounding menstruation.
- Reusable Pads & Menstrual Cups: Provide sustainable menstrual products, such as reusable pads and menstrual cups, along with training on how to use and maintain them, promoting eco-friendly practices.
2. Scholarships & Educational Support
- School Fee Assistance: Offer scholarships and financial support to cover school fees, uniforms, books, and other educational expenses for girls from low-income families.
- Tutoring & Academic Support Programs: Arrange tutoring sessions in subjects like mathematics, science, and language to help girls improve their academic performance.
